Support our Firewise group

Next Firewise meeting: Wednesday, March 11, 2026

10:00 AM – LCMC Board Room

News – Firewise is here to serve the Lake Cushman Community and we need your participation. Please join us at our meetings in person or on-line to see how you might get to better know your community and your neighbors, all while helping the community at the same time.

Emergency Preparedness

Part of our community goal is to provide support for Emergency preparedness. In meeting discussions, we feel that it is time to see about getting our local CERT ( Community Emergency Response Team ) up and going. We are not taking it on, but would like to help facilitate getting it going. If you are interested in participating or just learning more about it, please attend our meeting.

Community Burn Ban Banners

Lake Cushman Firewise is pleased to present our new Burn Ban banners.  With input from Hoodsport Fire & EMS (Thanks, Chief Mike Sexton and Capt. Ray Menard), LCFC designed the banners to be easily and quickly overlaid on our permanent sign on Hwy 119, to clearly post when a burn ban is in effect. With one banner for a partial burn ban and one for a full burn ban, we hope to keep our community members and visitors informed of current conditions.  Look for them next year when fire season arrives.
