The annual Wildfire Preparedness day event was held on May 6, 2023. We had 4 great speakers – and approximately 30 guests. Ray Menard started off the event by giving an informed talk regarding local wildfire risk and the differences from other events in other locations. The Sherriff’s department discussed what they will do and not do if an evacuation is called for. Chief Satterfield discussed triage of properties in a wildfire event and Bob Bainbridge discussed some of the political structure related to local fire districts and the role Mason county Department of Emergency Management plays in wildfire emergencies. Overall, it was a well attended event with lots of new faces in the crowd. And as usual we had lots of great raffle prizes to give away. Thanks to everyone who came, the speakers and everyone who helped make it a success.
