News – Firewise is here to serve the Lake Cushman Community and we need your participation. Please join us at our meetings in person or on-line to see how you might get to better know your community and your neighbors, all while helping the community at the same time.

Emergency Preparedness

Part of our community goal is to provide support for Emergency preparedness. In meeting discussions, we feel that it is time to see about getting our local CERT ( Community Emergency Response Team ) up and going. We are not taking it on, but would like to help facilitate getting it going. If you are interested in participating or just learning more about it, please attend our meeting.

Announcing the New … Firewise Shed !

Firewise is quite pleased to present our shed, at the Standstill Firehouse. We built it to show some of the best fire-resistant building materials, and as a place to house our Firewise education materials and tools. Swing by and take a look! It still needs a few finishing touches, and if you’re interested in helping with the final ‘polish’, let us know. The more Firewise volunteers we have the more we can do. Not just on this shed, but across the entire community.
