_________________________________________________________________________
The minutes of the June 12, 2024 meeting were considered and then approved with a motion by Gary and a second by Dave.
Treasurer Report – Gary Nelson.
The Treasurer’s Report has been published separately but was discussed and approved following a motion by Dave with a second from Alec. It was noted we got the microgrant reimbursement from DNR.
Increasing the Firewise Presence
Alec noted we can get bling such as bags, and fridge magnets from DNR under the Wildfire Ready program. Just need to set up a time to go get them.
Shed Report
Need another work party to finish up the shed. We had got it enough done for the reimbursement, but still some things needing done. Soffits, deck, some trim work, sealing and paint.
Map of Safe Zones
Gary will talk with Ray and see if they have already been determined and segue with the Fire Chief, Mike.
Database for Firewise
Gary is working on this. There was some discussion on having Dennis look into Air Table, a database API. Since Dennis was not available to confirm, Dave will look into it. There was also discussion that Dave and Gary would get together on Excel Pivot tables as a possible database tool.
Several Items were discussed as to Priority
Designated as low priority were Mailbox brochures and Metal Firewise signs – Ray has set up a mockup of a sign on his computer that could be sent to Black Star for printing to be used as the replacement for the sign in front of the real estate office. It integrated our Firewise logo and the Wildfire Ready logo.
Block watch collaboration was set as a middle priority
Lilliwaup Community Dinner was discussed, we are still considering doing it.
Alec has located a nice canopy for Firewise. It was discussed that we would wait until we have the need for it.
Dave to work on a one-sheet Firewise insert for LCMC to give new community members.
GMRS radios for CERT were discussed. Alec was very knowledgeable on the subject. Gary suggested the fire department send Firewise a proposal for what would be the best radios to get. Alec will discuss with Bob Burbridge.
Other discussions:
Spend more focus on Wildfire Ready neighborhood
Who could or would take chips from any chipper day event
Adjournment
Meeting adjourned at 11:30am.
Next regular meeting scheduled for August 14th at 10am in LCMC boardroom.
Minutes compiled and respectfully submitted by Kathy Stafford and Dave Peterson.
